Biography / Info
There aren't enough hyperboles in existence to describe Ex Norwegian, the ill-advised brainchild of Roger Houdaille, who formed the indie rock group in the summer of 2008 with bassist Nina Souto, drummer Arturo Garcia, guitarist Billie G and vocalist Michelle Grand. After their launch at that years CMJ Festival, the band duly released their debut album, Standby, to huge critical support.
After a couple tours, Ex Norwegian condensed into a bass/drum/guitar trio and released their second, more heavier LP, Sketch, in 2010. Again, the critics heralded the release but sales where not reflective of such praise. In March 2011, Ex Norwegian disbanded. This proved to be short lived, with Roger Houdaille picking up the pieces when Dying Van Gogh Records re-released Sketch in late 2011. Bringing back Michelle Grand, and adding guitarist Lucas Queiroz plus drummer Alex Ibanez, the band recorded the third album, House Music, released in 2012. With focus shifting more towards recording and charity work, the bands live performance schedule has slowed down, making any gig worthy of catching.
