California Composer Rosalind Richards is a classically trained flutist who brings us her new album, Eclec-tricity, with cool urban Jazz grooves like "Monday Morning" and "The Getaway," as well as World Fusion, blending cultural elements from India, Bali, Ireland, Africa, South America, and the Middle East. Earlier, her group Ginseng played concert venues with the Frank Zappa's band, The Mothers of Invention, and she has released four albums. As an expert on ethnic rhythms and song structure, Rosalind has taught World Music classes at two San Diego universities for over 10 years.Rosalind Richards' latest album, Eclec-tricity, features a variety of World Fusion, Classical, and Contemporary Cool Jazz tracks, perfect for big city romance or laidback lounge music. Songs like Slidin' could set the perfect movie scene for Sunday morning coffee and the papers, while Andean Hopscotch, Irish Reel, Bali Java Jam, Maasaii Jumping, Three Wishes, and Ganges Dancer highlight exotic sounds from around the world.
"Rosalind Richards is a flutist with a B.A., with Honors in Performance, from UCSD and an M.A. from SDSU. Ms. Richards has played Principle Flute with the La Jolla Civic Orchestra.
