NoTrace was born Maurice Blount Jr., on July 10th 1985 on the south side of Chicago. NoTrace is the youngest to an older sister of ten years Victoria Denise Blount, and son of Charles Maurice Sr., and Theresa Blount. Notrace spent his younger and early teen years on the south side of Chicago (wild 100ths) where drugs, gangs, and violence surrounded the area. After many years in Chicago, the Blount family decided to move to a smaller, less dangerous area in Minnesota in hopes of a better life after struggles and many set backs. However, the struggles and times got worse with his mother and father not getting along and his fathers battle with diabetes. Notrace found himself alone, homeless, and his father was disabled due to multiple strokes and stuck in a nursing home still to this day. Notrace with a musical and basketball background, found the passion for both of them at a very young age. He got music from his father and basketball from his mother. He continued to pursue both passions as much as he could in hopes of becoming the best at what he loved and to get his family out of the hole they were in. Unfortunately, Notrace was not able to pursue basketball due to previous situations that made him homeless his senior year. He stayed involved in creating music as a way out of hard times. Notrace ultimately started writing and creating beats on a Zoom 234 beat machine at the age of 13. For his age, NoTrace stayed in his in home studio making music while others his age and all his friends would be out socializing. Shortly after he formed a group called SP (Silent Predatorz). He wrote and produced his first group underground album Scratching the Surface that was put on major online chains through an underground label in the year 2000 when he was 15. He has since been working hard and staying focus to progress and promote his talents by releasing a SP demo with 8 songs on it in 2002 that has since made the group very popular in scattered locations on the underground scene. NoTrace & SP have receive good exposure from the internet and also opened for Young Buck, 50 Cent of G unit, Jin of Ruff Ryders , and alot of head liners in cities such as Detroit, Minneapolis, Green Bay, and Milwaukee, and Minnesota, where they all have received great responses. He has now finished up his solo demo in hopes of getting more exposure as a writer and performer. He now plans to promote and showcase his raw talent in hopes that someone in the right position will see his potential, ambition, Writing ability, and love for music. Notrace, laid back, humble and determined, has an aggressive and unique sound with a deep voice. His style is a mid-west with a down south influence but his sounds his own. His influences are Tupac, Eightball & MJG, Three 6 Mafia, Twista, and alot of other artists he grew up listening to. He speaks on life experiences, struggles, good times and dreams of making it in the music industry. He prefers to be more towards the commercial and radio music because he just wants to enjoy life and project it through music without to much negativity. NoTrace, now 23, feels very ready and confident that he will attract a lot of attention with his demo and video. He is now working on his solo debut album with production from mutiple underground hot producers. He also has finished the video for a very powerful and popular song, directed by Jay Todd, entitled No More Pain from his solo demo. The song is dedicated to his family but most of all to his father who was also a musician. NoTrace is now continuing to do shows, record songs and promote himself in hopes of getting notice and estsablishing his raw talent as a writer and performer. He is now finishing up his press kit/ Promo Album with all new and unheard music.
